UFC 152 Preliminary Card Preview: Igor Pokrajac vs. Vinny Magalhaes

The main event of the UFC 152 preliminary card on FX will be in the light heavyweight division as Igor Pokrajac (25-8) takes on Vinny Magalhaes (9-5, 1NC), who is making his return to the UFC.

Pokrajac started his UFC career with three losses in his first four fights, but has turned it around with three straight wins.

During his recent winning streak, two of the wins are by knockout and is coming off a decision victory over Fabio Maldonaldo at UFC on FUEL TV 3.

Magalhaes was a contestant on season eight of “The Ultimate Fighter” and lost in the final to Ryan Bader. He lost his next fight at UFC 97 to Eliot Marshall and was released from the UFC.

Since being released by the UFC, he won seven of his last eight fights and is currently on a five fight winning streak. He was most recently the M-1 Global light heavyweight champion and has not been in a fight since October of last year.

Both fighters are known for stopping their opponents with Pokrajac have 21 stoppage victories in his 25 wins and Magalhaes has stopped his opponent in all nine of his victories.

Seven of Magalhaes victories are by submission and Pokrajac has only lost by submission once in his career. Pokrajac will have to stay away from getting into a grappling fight with Magalhaes and keep the fight standing.

TheMMAReport.com predicts that Magalhaes will be successful in his return to the UFC and will get a submission victory in the first round.
