The UFC has added a pair of bouts to The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale with Dustin Poirier vs. Jonathan Brookins in a featherweight bout and Jared Papazian vs. Tim Elliot in a flyweight bout.
UFC officials announced the fights yesterday and they will both take place on the preliminary card.
Poirier (12-2) suffered his first UFC last in his last fight against Chan Sung Jung and recently moved his training to American Top Team in Florida. He has gone 4-1 in the UFC since coming to the promotion after the merger with the WEC. Brookins (13-5) will also enter this fight after a lost, which happened at the TUF 15 Finale against Charles Oliviera. He has gone 2-2 in the UFC and is 1-2 in his last three fights.
Elliot (8-3) made his UFC debut earlier this year against John Dodson at UFC on FOX 3 and was defeated by unanimous decision. Seven of eight career victories are by stoppage, with four of those wins are by submission. Papazian (14-8) has gone 0-2 since entering the UFC, with losses against Mike Easton and Dustin Pague.
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale takes place on December 15th from The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and will be headlined by Shane Carwin taking on Roy Nelson in a five round heavyweight bout.
