With Chael Sonnen now receiving a title shot against Jon Jones, this leaves Forrest Griffin without an opponent for UFC 155.
During yesterday’s media conference call, UFC President Dana White confirmed that Griffin would remain on the card in the co-main event slot and they are working on an opponent.
A potential opponent for Griffin could be Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and sent a message to White on Twitter to say he wants the fight.
@danawhite I’m 100% and training again. Put me in against @forrestgriffin on UFC 155! This fight was scheduled once, let’s do it now!

Nogueira (20-6) has won three of his five fights in the UFC and his last fight came at UFC 140 last year when he defeated Tito Ortiz by TKO in the first round. He was scheduled to return at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in the main event against Alexander Gustafsson, but he had to pull out of the fight with an injury.
With both fighters coming off victories in their last fight, it makes sense for the UFC to make this fight happen.
