UFC heavyweight Travis Browne suffered the first defeat of his career this past Friday night at UFC on FX 5 against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, which he suffered a leg injury.
Browne (13-1-1) injured his leg earlier in the first round and announced today on Twitter that he tore his hamstring, which will cause him to be out 2-4 months but will not require surgery.

At the post fight press conference, Browne did not use the injury as an excuse and gave credit to Silva for capitalizing on the situation and getting the win.
Prior to this fight, Browne was seen as a fighter that was another win or two away from being in the mix for a title shot. Now, he will have to work his way back up the rankings and will likely look for a rematch with Silva down the road.
