Bellator fans will decide the first fight on Spike TV

The Bellator Fighting Championships will be moving to Spike TV in January and the organization made a announcement tonight about the first Bellator season on Spike TV.

During the main card broadcast on MTV2, Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney announced that the fans will decided the first fight in the season eight welterweight tournament.

Voting will begin on Thursday, November 8th on Spike.com and fans choose between Paul Daley, Ben Saunders, Douglas Lima and Jon “War Machine” Koppenhaver.

During the Bellator 79 post-fight press conference, Rebney said that fans will pick the first fight and the rest of the fights will be decided in their seeding process.

It’s unknown who the other four quarter finalist will be in the season eight welterweight tournament, but one of quarter finalist could be Ryan Ford. He defeated Kyle Baker by unanimous decision at Bellator 79, but he issues that do not allow him currently to fight in the United States. If Ford and Bellator can clear these issues, he could be placed in the next welterweight tournament.
