Gray Maynard out of UFC 155 and Joe Lauzon now faces Jim Miller

An injury has forced Gray Maynard out of his UFC 155 bout against Joe Lauzon and replacing Maynard in the bout will be Jim Miller.

UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday afternoon and the fight will take place on the main card on pay-per-view on December 29th.

Miller (21-4) has gone 10-3 in the UFC and holds wins over Melvin Guillard, Mark Bocek, Matt Wiman and Mac Danzig.

After winning seven straight fight, he has lost two of his last three fights and the losses have come against Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz.

Lauzon (22-7) has won three of his last four fights and is coming off a fight and submission of the night win over Jamie Varner at UFC on FOX 4 earlier this month.

His only lost in his last four fights came against Anthony Pettis at UFC 144 and lost by knockout. He is becoming known as “Mr. Fight Night Bonus Winner” as he has collected a fight night bonus in seven of his last eight fights. He is second in UFC history with 11 fight night bonus and only trails Anderson Silva by one.

UFC 155 takes place on December 29th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be headlined by Junior dos Santos defending the UFC heavyweight title against former champion Cain Velasquez.
