UFC officials announced the new fight today and the UFC will now look for a new opponent for Phil De Fries for UFC 155, since he was scheduled to take on Mitrione.

The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale will take place on December 15th from The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotal & Casino in Las Vegas and will be shown live on FX.

Mitrione (5-1) started his MMA career by becoming a contestant on season ten of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which Nelson won that season.

He started his career with five straight victories and suffered his first career defeat last year at UFC 137 to Cheick Kongo, when he was defeated by decision.

Nelson (17-7) has gone 4-3 since entering the UFC and his UFC losses are against Junior dos Santos, Frank Mir and Fabricio Werdum. He has won two of his last three fights and defeated Dave Herman in 51 seconds at UFC 146 earlier this year, which won the knockout of the night bonus.
