A lightweight bout has been added to The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale as Melvin Guillard meets Jamie Varner.
The UFC announced the fight today and it’s likely that the fight will take place on the main card, which will air on FX starting at 9 p.m. ET.
Guillard (30-11-2, 1NC) has gone 1-3 in his last four fights and is coming off a knockout lost to Donald Cerrone at UFC 150 in August. Even though he lost the fight and missed weight, he was still awarded the fight of the night bonus.
Varner (20-7-1, 2NC) recently returned to the UFC and has gone 1-1 since coming back to the organization. In his return fight, he pulled off an upset victory over Edson Barboza at UFC 146. His last fight took place in August against Joe Lauzon at UFC on FOX 4 and was defeated by submission in the third round.
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale takes place from The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on December 15th and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout as Shane Carwin takes on Roy Nelson.
