When asked about the potential fight, White said that he has talked to St-Pierre about what he wants next and he want to fight former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz.

As of telling the media attending of the press conference, White had not told Diaz that St-Pierre want to fight him next but he is in Seattle with his brother Nate.

With St-Pierre wanting to take on the former Strikeforce champion next, White said that is a fight that they will look to make.

Diaz is currently under suspension with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and his suspension is set to expire on February 4th. After that date, he can reapply for a license, which he will have to go in front of the commission to do that.

A potential fight between St-Pierre and Diaz could take place on March 16th in Montreal, which the UFC has targeted as a potential date for the welterweight champion’s next fight.

If Diaz gets the next crack at St-Pierre, where does that leave Johny Hendricks? He is coming off a knockout victory over Martin Kampmann at UFC 154 and appeared to be the new number on contender in the division.

White that that if Diaz ends up being the next guy, Hendricks will have to take a fight and will not be able to wait for the winner of the fight. After hearing about today’s news, Hendricks went to Twitter to voice his frustration.

Unless Diaz is unable to get a license from the Nevada State Athletic Commission shortly after his suspension is up or St-Pierre changes his mind, Hendricks will have no choice to take a fight and it’s unknown who that would be against.
