Michael Chiesa vs. Anton Kuivanen added to UFC 157

A lightweight bout has been added to the UFC 157 card on February 23rd in California as Ultimate Fighter winner Michael Chiesa will face Anton Kuivanen. UFC 157 Full Poster

UFC officials announced the fight booking and the bout will be on the preliminary portion of the fight card.

Chiesa (8-0) won “The Ultimate Fighter 15” earlier this year with a technical submission win over Al Iaquinta in the first round. It was his fifth straight win in the fight round and all of those wins came by submission.

He was scheduled to scheduled to face Marcus LeVesseur at UFC on FOX 5 earlier this month, but he had to pull out of the fight due to an illness.

Kuivanen (17-5) was signed by the UFC at the beginning of the year after winning nine straight fights in Finland. He made his UFC debut at UFC on FUEL TV 1 against Justin Salas and was defeated by unanimous decision.

He retuned at UFC 149 against Mitch Clark and won his first UFC fight by split decision. 12 of his 17 career victories have come by either knockout or submission, but he has gone to the decision in his last four fights.

UFC 157 takes place on February 23rd at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California and will be headlined by Ronda Rousey defending the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Liz Carmouche.
