A welterweight bout has been added to UFC on FOX 7 on April 20th in San Jose, California as Dan Hardy faces Matt Brown.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Tuesday night and the fight is likely to take place on the main card on FOX.
Hardy (25-10, 1NC) has won back to back fights after dropping four in a row. His losing streak began in 2010 at UFC 111 when he took on Georges St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight title and was defeated by unanimous decision.
After losing Anthony Johnson, Carlos Condit and Chris Lyle, he got back on the winning side of the fight at UFC 146 when he scored a knockout victory over Duane Ludwig. He followed up that win by defeating Amir Sadollah by decision at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in his hometown on Nottingham, England.
Brown (16-11) entered the UFC during the seventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and won four of his first five fights in the organization. He would follow that streak up with losses in four of his next five fights and all of those four losses came by submission in the second round.
He is currently on a four fight winning streak, with all four wins coming in 2012 and three of the four wins coming by TKO/KO. His most recent victory came on the main card of UFC on FOX 5, when he defeated Mike Swick by knockout in the second round.
UFC on FOX 7 takes place on April 20th from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California and will be headlined by Benson Henderson defending the UFC lightweight title against the last Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez.
