An undisclosed injury has forced Justin Salas off the UFC on FX 7 and stepping in to face Edson Barboza will be Lucas Martins, who will be making his UFC debut.
UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday and the fight will take place on the preliminary card on FUEL TV.
Martins (11-0) is known for his striking and has only gone the distance once in his career. Seven of his eleven professional victories have come by knockout, with four of his last five wins coming by knockout.
He has finished his opponent in the first round on six occasions and has only gone to the third round twice in his career.
Barboza (10-1) entered the UFC in 2010 and won his first four fights, which included a head kick knockout at UFC 142 against Terry Etim and was one of the best knockouts in 2012.
Following the win over Etim, he met former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner at UFC 146 and suffered his first UFC defeat when Varner finished the fight by TKO in the first round.
UFC on FX 7 will take place on January 19th from Sao Paulo, Brazil and will be headlined by a five round middleweight bout as Michael Bisping looks to earn a title shot when he takes on former title contender Vitor Belfort.
