A welterweight bout has been added to UFC 159 on April 27th as Nick Catone will face James Head.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Wednesday and the fight will take place on the preliminary card, which is expected to air on FX and Facebook.
Catone (9-4) is currently on a two fight losing streak, which included a submission defeat to TJ Waldburger at the Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale in his UFC welterweight debut. He does hold a win over Costa Philippou by decision, which was Philippou’s UFC debut and he took the fight on short notice.
Head (9-3) will also enter this fight following a defeat, which also came at the Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale when he was defeated by Mike Pyle. The lost to Pyle was his first as a UFC welterweight and was on a two fight winning streak.
UFC 159 takes place on April 27th from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Chael Sonnen.
