Roy Nelson vs. Cheick Kongo set for UFC 159

A heavyweight bout has been added to UFC 159 on April 27th as Roy Nelson will face Cheick Kongo. UFC 159

The bout was announced on Tuesday night’s edition of “UFC Tonight” and it will take place on the main card of UFC 159, which will take place on pay-per-view.

Nelson (18-7) is currently on a two fight winning streak and has won three of his last four fights. His most recent win came at The Ultimate Fighter Finale 16 against Matt Mitrione and it was his second straight win by knockout in the first round. All of his wins in the UFC have come by knockout and has won the knockout of the night bonus on three occasions.

Kongo (18-7-2) has been in the UFC since 2006 and has a UFC record of 11-5-1. He has won four of his last six fights, which includes wins over Pat Barry, Matt Mitrione and Shawn Jordan. His win over Jordan was in his last fight, which he won by decision at UFC 149 last year.

UFC 159 takes place on April 27th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Chael Sonnen.
