The news of the fight being off the card was confirmed on UFC Tonight on FUEL TV on Tuesday night after MMAJunkie.com reported that the fight was in jeopardy.

It’s unknown that the injury is that has caused Johnson to pull out of the fight and the UFC will now look for a new main event. According to UFC officials, a new main event should be announced in the coming days.

Johnson (17-2-1) has been one of the most active fighters in the UFC as he has competed in the octagon four times since March of last year. He won the UFC flyweight tournament in September over Joseph Benavidez to win the first ever UFC flyweight title and recently defended the title against John Dodson at UFC on FOX 6.

At this time, it’s not known how long he will be out and if Moraga will take another fight before Johnson is able to return. Moraga (13-1) is currently on a seven fight winning streak and two of those wins have come in the UFC.
