The UFC has announced that four lightweight bouts have been added to UFC on FOX 7 on April 20th in San Jose with fights being Norman Parke vs. Jon Tuck, Myles Jury vs. Ramsey Nijem, Roger Bowling vs. Anthony Njokuani and Jorge Masvidal vs. Tim Means.
All of these fights will take place on the preliminary card, which will be aired on FX and start at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.
Parke (17-2) was the lightweight winner of TUF: The Smashes and he is currently on a six fight winning streak. This will be his first fight since he defeated Colin Fletcher in the finals of the reality show. Tuck (7-0) made his UFC debut at UFC on FUEL TV 6 in China last year and defeated Zhang Tiequan by unanimous decision. It was his first time going the distance, as his previous six fights ended in the first round.
Jury (11-0) is a TUF 15 Alum and has won his first two fights in the UFC. His official UFC debut came at the live finale, which he defeated Chris Saunders by submission. He followed up that victory by defeating Michael Johnson by decision at UFC 155. Nijem (7-2) was a finalist on TUF 13, which was at welterweight. After the finale, he dropped down to the lightweight division, where he has won three in a row.
Bowling (11-3) comes to the UFC via Strikeforce and this will be his debut in the octagon. He went 4-3 in Strikeforce and he was defeated by Tarec Saffiedine in his last fight in Strikeforce. Njokuani (15-7, 1NC) will also enter this fight off a defeat and has gone 2-3 in the UFC, but has not lost back to back fights in the UFC.
Masvidal (23-7) is also a Strikeforce import who will be making his UFC debut on this card. He is a former title contender in Strikeforce, where he went 3-1 in the company with the only defeat coming against Gilbert Melendez. Means (18-3-1) has won both of his fights in the UFC and is currently on a nine fight winning streak. During his winning streak, he has six wins by TKO/KO and three of his last four wins have come in the first round.
UFC on FOX 7: Henderson vs. Melendez takes place on April 20th from the HP Pavilion in San Jose and will be headlined by Benson Henderson defending the UFC lightweight title against Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez.
