A bantamweight bout has been added to next month’s UFC 158 card in Montreal as George Roop will face Reuben Duran.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Thursday morning and the fight will take place on the preliminary card.
Roop (12-9-1) has gone 2-5 in the UFC and has lost back to back fights in the organization. He has not been in the octagon since last year’s UFC on FOX 2 event, which he was defeated by Cub Swanson. He was booked for two other fights in 2012, but he pulled out of both fights with an injury.
Duran (8-4-1) entered the UFC in 2011 and has gone 1-2 in the organziation. After losing his debut against Takeya Mizugaki, he returned at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale and won the submission of the night bonus for his rear-naked choke submission against Francisco Rivera.
UFC 158 takes place on March 16th from the Bell Centre in Montreal and will be headlined by Georges St-Pierre defending the UFC welterweight title against former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz.
