A pair of lightweight bouts have been added to UFC 160 on May 25th in Las Vegas as Gray Maynard will face TJ Grant and Abel Trujillo meets Khabib Nurmagomedov.
UFC officials announced both bouts on late Wednesday night and it’s unknown where the fights will be placed on the fight card.
Maynard (11-1-1, 1NC) has gone 1-1-1 in his last three fights, with two of those fights coming against Frankie Edgar for the UFC lightweight title. After being defeated by Edgar at UFC 136, he returned at UFC on FX 4 last year and won a split decision over Clay Guida. He was scheduled to return at UFC 155 against Joe Lauzon, but had to pull out of the fight with an injury.
Grant (20-5) has won four straight fights since dropping down to the lightweight division and is coming off a first round knockout victory over Matt Wiman at UFC on FOX 6. The knockout victory was only his third career victory by knockout and was his first since 2009.
Trujillo (10-4) is currently on a five fight winning streak and won his UFC debut at UFC on FOX 5 against Marcus LeVesseur. He won the fight in the second round by knockout and it was his first knockout victory since 2010.
Nurmagomedov (19-0) entered the UFC at the beginning of 2012 and has won his first three fights in the UFC. Two of his three UFC victories are by stoppage and his most recent win came at UFC on FX 7 against Thiago Tavares, which he won in the first round by knockout.
UFC 160 takes place on May 25th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Cain Velasquez defending the UFC heavyweight title against Antonio Silva.
