Spike TV and Bellator MMA have been planning a reality show and details on the upcoming reality show were announced today during a press conference in California.
The show will be called “Fight Master: Bellator MMA” and show will feature four camps that will be coached by Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, Greg Jackson and Joe Warren.
According to Spike TV and Bellator officials, the show will be filmed in Louisiana and the fights will be regulated by the Louisiana State Boxing & Wrestling Commission.
The reality show will feature 32 welterweight fighters and the winner of the show will win $100,000 and a guaranteed spot in a Bellator tournament. The fighters will control their own destiny as they will be able to pick their coach according the Sharon Levy of Spike TV.
“The stakes are high and the wrong decision, whether it is picking an opponent you don’t match up well against or a coach and fight camp that you don’t work well with, can mean all the difference”, said Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV.
The show taping is imminently according to Levy and this season will have 1o one hour episodes, which will be hosted by Jimmy Smith and start in the summer.
