The UFC officially announced yesterday that UFC 160 will take place on May 25th in Las Vegas and a welterweight bout has been added to the card as Stephen Thompson will meet Amir Sadollah.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Wednesday and both fighters have verbally agreed to the fight.
Thompson (6-1) has not been in action since UFC 145 last year, when he suffered his first career defeat to Matt Brown. He was scheduled to be on the UFC 154 card, but he had to pull out of the fight card with an injury.
Sadollah (6-4) won The Ultimate Fighter 7 as a middleweight and immediately dropped down to the welterweight division. He has gone 3-2 in his last five fights and was defeated by Dan Hardy at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in his last fight.
UFC 160 takes place on May 25th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be headlined by Cain Velasquez defending the UFC heavyweight title against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
