Sorry for being a day late folks but with the President’s day holiday, the Nielsen ratings were delayed 24 hours. Anyway, Tuesday nights The Ultimate Fighter featured Team Sonnen taking back control once again with Kelvin Gastelum defeating Robert “Bubba” McDaniel via submission in a another solid TUF fight.
According to Nielsen sources, the fifth episode of The Ulimate Fighter 17 came in 33rd overall out of the top 100 cable shows with 1.130 million viewers and a 0.6 in the adult 18-49 demographic.
This episode was arguably a sizable decrease from last weeks decent 1.25 million viewers. As you can see from the chart below, it also looks like The Ultimate Fighter has found its groove within the 1.0-1.25 million viewers area which is better than what it was pulling on Friday’s, but still no where near what it was pulling on Spike TV.
When it came to other competition in the 9 p.m. time-slot the UFC went up against fierce competition yet again from Top Gear, Face Off and Storage Wars – Texas. Each of the rival spot shows posted 0.8’s in the 18-49 adult demo and well over 2 million viewers for each show. The highest rated 9 p.m. cable show ended up being a repeat of The Big Bang Theory on TBS, which has continually been in first these past five-weeks.
