Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum are the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 2 and the two heavyweights will meet in the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 10 on June 8th in Brazil.
UFC officials confirmed the fight will headlined the fight card that will serve as The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 2 Finale and the fight will be a five round bout.
Nogueira and Werdum are the coaches for the upcoming reality show, which will debut in Brazil on Sunday and will be available on TUF.tv the following day.
Nogueira (34-7-1, 1NC) is 3-3 in his last six fights and all three of his losses during this time period have come by stoppage. Two of the losses came against Frank Mir, which included his technical submission defeat at UFC 140.
After recovering from the arm injury he suffered in the bout against Mir at UFC 140, the former interim UFC heavyweight champion returned at UFC 153 last year and defeated Dave Herman in the co-main event. It was his 21st career win by submission and it was his first win by submission since 2008.
Werdum (16-5-1) has won back to back bouts in the UFC after coming over from Strikeforce. This is his second stint in the UFC and a win over Nogueira could put him in line for a title shot in the UFC heavyweight division. He is coming off a first round TKO victory at UFC 147 against Mike Russow and this will be his first fight in nearly twelve months.
UFC on FUEL TV 10 will take place on June 8th and is expected to take place at the Ginásio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Brazil. The UFC is expected to officially announce the venue and when tickets will go on sale in the near future.
