Bellator put on its eighth live show on Spike TV last night which featured a series of middleweight and featherweight tournament semifinal match ups.
Bellator was also coming off it’s second highest rating ever on Spike TV for Bellator 91, so this weeks number was much anticipated in terms of season average.
According to Nielsen and Spike TV, Bellator 92’s preliminary number came in at a fairly low 741k total viewers.
Between the live (741k) and replay (311k) numbers of last night’s fight card, the cume number landed at 1,052,000 total viewers.
The normal lead-in show for Bellator, Impact Wrestling, was pretty consistent again this week landing at 1.425 million viewers with a 0.5 in the 18-49 adult demographic. The show featured The Aces and 8s revealing a secret, the return of Hulk Hogan, a busted up Sting and a Hardy and Bully Ray face to face confrontation.
For the rest of the competition last night Bellator was up against a bunch of repeats (again) including CBS’s powerhouse Elementary. Elementary once again scored a 8.72 million viewers and a 1.6 (w/ 5 share) in the 18-49 adult demographic. Law & Order: SVU and Scandal both clocked in around 3.7 million viewers and 1.0 (3 shares) in the 18-49 adult demographic.
When it came to the other cable networks at 10p.m. both Archer and NBA on TNT once again reigned supreme in the time-slot war. Archer hit its normal stride at 1.533 million viewers and a huge 0.9 in the adult 18-49 demographic. The NBA grabbed 2.7 million viewers with an even larger 1.1 in the adult 18-49 demographic.
I will have an updated Bellator ratings chart once the live+3 information becomes available next Tuesday.
