Bellator MMA Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney announced the news on Twitter today.

In the announcement of delaying the fight, Rebney did not give an exact date of when the fight will take place.

Lima (24-5) defeated Bryan Baker by knockout in the second round at Bellator 90 two weeks ago and it was his third straight win. He has won six of his last seven fights, which includes a win over Saunders in the season five welterweight tournament.

He released a statement on his Facebook page, which includes a x-ray picture of his broken hand and stated he was happy that Bellator moved the fight to later in the year.

“So disappointed but looks like I won’t be able to fight March 21st,” Lima wrote on Facebook. “I broke my hand against Baker and doctor told me not to fight. So I thank Bjorn Rebney and Bellator MMA for moving the final against Saunders to next season. Thank you guys and I’ll keep you updated!”

Saunders (16-5-2) is also on a three fight winning streak and he is also coming off a knockout victory at Bellator 90 in the welterweight tournament semifinals. He defeated Raul Amaya by head kick knockout and it was his fourth Bellator victory by knockout.

The 2013 Bellator Summer Series is expected to begin in June and be three fight cards. Bellator has not officially announce the start date for the Summer Series and they are expected to announce dates for the Summer Series in the near future.
