A bantamweight bout has been added to UFC 159 on April 27th in New Jersey as Johnny Bedford will face Erik Perez.
UFC officials announced the fight booking today and the fight will take place on the preliminary card, which will be shown on FX and Facebook.
Bedford (19-9-1) was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 14 and has won his first two fights in the UFC. Both of his wins in the organization have come by knockout with the victories coming against Louis Gaudinot and Marcos Vinicius.
He has won eight of his last nine fights and six of those wins were by submission or knockout. During his career, he has 15 career stoppages with eight of those coming by knockout.
Perez (13-4) is currently on a eight fight winning streak and has gone 3-0 in the UFC. He was signed by the organization in 2012 and made his debut at The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale.
All of his wins in the UFC have come in the first round, with two of the victories coming by knockout. He most recently defeated Byron Bloodworth at UFC 155 and it was his tenth career victory in the first round.
UFC 159 takes place on April 27th from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Chael Sonnen.
