A welterweight bout has been added to UFC 160 on May 25th as TUF 16 winner Colton Smith will face TUF: The Smashes winner Robert Whittaker.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Sunday and the fight will take place on the preliminary card.
Smith (3-1) won The Ultimate Fighter 16 at the end of 2012 when he defeated Mike Ricci in the finale. He was able to use his wrestling to control the fight and get the decision victory.
Whittaker (10-2) was the winner of the welterweight tournament in TUF: The Smashes as he defeated Brad Scott in the finale at UFC on FX 6. He has won three of his last four fights and nine of his ten wins have come by stoppage.
UFC 160 takes place on May 25th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and the current fight card is below:
