The Xtreme Fighting Championships will return to Florida on June 14th for XFC 24 and the event will take place at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa.
The card will be headlined by XFC lightweight champion Nick Newell defending the title for the first time as he is challenged by Scott Holtzman.
“I am excited to be coming back to Tampa. This is where it all began for us,” said Prsico. “We spent some time expanding our fan base and signing talent from across the country, now it’s time for the XFC to deliver another great show in Tampa.”
Newell (9-0) became the XFC lightweight champion at the end of 2012 when he defeated Eric Reynolds by rear-naked choke submission in the first round at XFC 21. It was his eighth win in the first round and his sixth career submission.
Holtzman (4-0) has had all four of his professional fights take place in the XFC and became the number one contender for the lightweight title when he defeated Jason Hicks at XFC 22 in February. Three of his four victories have come by stoppage and two of those wins came in the first round by TKO.
The XFC will be announcing more fights in the coming weeks for the June 14th card and the show is expected to have several local fighters, a women’s bout and recent Open Fighter Tryout winner Jeremiah Labiano will be on the card.
