Erik Perez out of UFC 159, Johnny Bedford now faces Bryan Caraway

An injection has forced Erik Perez to pull out of his fight on Saturday night at UFC 159 against Johnny Bedford and Bryan Caraway will step in to replace Perez. UFC 159

UFC officials announced the change on Monday and the fight between Bedford and Caraway will take place on the preliminary card on FX.

UFC 159 takes place on Saturday from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Chael Sonnen.

Caraway (17-6) won his first two fights in the UFC after being on The Ultimate Fighter 14 and is coming off a lost at UFC on FUEL TV 8 against Takeya Mizugaki. He lost the fight by split decision and it was his first lost since 2010, which came in the WEC against Fredson Paixao.

Bedford (19-9-1) has won three in a row and eight of his last nine fights. He entered the UFC during season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter and has won both of his UFC fights by TKO/KO.
