A lightweight bout has been added to UFC 162 on July 6th in Las Vegas as The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes winner Norman Parke will face Kazuki Tokudome.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Wednesday afternoon and the fight will take place on the preliminary card.
UFC 162 takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Anderson Silva defending the UFC middleweight title against Chris Weidman.
Parke (17-2) won The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes lightweight tournament late in 2012 and was scheduled to fight last week at UFC on FOX 7 against Jon Tuck. However, Tuck pulled out of the fight and the UFC did not find a new opponent for him. He is currently on a seven fight winning streak and three of those wins have come by submission, with two of those submissions coming by rear-naked choke.
Tokudome (12-3-1) entered the UFC at the beginning of the year and won his debut at UFC on FUEL TV 8 against Cristiano Marcello. He won the fight by unanimous decision and it was his third straight win. Eight of his twelve career victories have come by stoppage, with five of the wins coming by TKO/KO and three coming by submission.
