Rick Story steps in for an injured Gunnar Nelson at UFC 160 against Mike Pyle

An undisclosed injury has forced Gunnar Nelson to pull out of his UFC 160 bout against Mike Pyle and UFC veteran Rick Story has agreed to step in. UFC 160 copy

UFC officials announced the change overnight and the bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card.

UFC 160 takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Cain Velasquez defending the UFC heavyweight title against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

Story (15-6) is a 12 fight veteran of the UFC and has a UFC record of 8-4. After being on a six fight winning streak between 2009 and 2011, he has gone 2-3 in his last five fight and recently defeated Quinn Mulhern by TKO in the first round at UFC 158.

Pyle (24-8-1) is currently on a three fight winning streak and has won six of his last seven fights. His only lost in his last seven fights came at UFC 133 to Rory MacDonald, which he was defeated in the first round by TKO. During his recent winning streak, all of the wins have come by TKO/KO in the first round and he won the knockout of the night bonus for his win over Josh Neer at UFC on FX 3.
