This past Saturdays TUF 17 finale did incredible ratings in a night which featured the crowning of Kevin Gastelum as the latest Ultimate Fighter winner and Urijah Faber scoring another submission victory in the main event.
According to Nielsen sources, the TUF finale scored a season high 1.71 million viewers and a 1.16 rating in the adult 18-49 key demographic.
The ratings also marked a series high for FX, which also grabbed #1 in the mens 18-34 and #2 (behind Nascar on Fox) in the mens 18-49 demographics for all of Saturday night television. This was also the highest rated season in TUF history on FX.
To take it a step further, according to Nielsen, the men 18-49, adults 18-34, men 18-34, adults 25-54, men 25-54 and women 25-54 also scored series highs. The 17th season as a whole averaged 1.32 million total viewers and 921,000 Adults 18-49, increases of +45% and +41%, respectively, vs. TUF 16.
Safe to say, Saturdays rating was clearly a great finale showing for FX and gives the UFC a great deal of positive momentum going forward into its new home on Fox Sports 1 later this fall.
