A scheduled lightweight bout between Joe Proctor and Al Iaquinta has been scratched from the UFC 159 card as both fighters have suffered injuries.
UFC officials announced the change on Thursday.
The news of an injury to Joe Proctor was reported first by MMA Junkie and that the organization was looking for a new opponent for Iaquinta. Several fighters went to their Twitter accounts and said they would be willing to step up, which included Conor McGregor and XFC lightweight champion Nick Newell.
The injuries suffered by Proctor and Iaquinta are unknown and how long that each fighter will be out for. With this fight being off the card, the UFC 159 card on April 27th from the Prudential Center in New Jersey will now have 12 bouts.
