Bryan Caraway took the fight against Johnny Bedford on six days notice and scored his 15th career submission victory with a guillotine choke submission win in the third round.
Caraway was able to control the fight on the ground as he took Bedford to the mat in all three rounds and Bedford struggled to get back to his feet.
In the first and second round, Bedford was able to land more significant strikes but Caraway was able to score points by taking the fight to the ground three times.
In the final round, Caraway was once again able to take the fight to the ground and appeared to be cruising to a decision victory. However, he saw an opportunity for a guillotine choke and locked in the submission to get the victory at the 4:44 mark of the round.
Caraway (18-6) improves to 3-1 in the UFC and his last five wins have come by submission. For Bedford, this is his first defeat in the UFC and nine of his ten career losses have come by submission.
