A pair of bouts have been added to UFC on FOX 8 on July 27th as Strikeforce welterweight champion Tarec Saffiedine makes his UFC debut against Robbie Lawlor and Danny Castillo will face Bobby Green.
Both fights were announced by the UFC on Thursday and it’s not known where the fights will be placed on the card.
Saffiedine (14-3) won the Strikeforce welterweight title at the final Strikeforce event in January against Nate Marquardt and is currently on a four fight winning streak.
Lawlor (20-9, 1NC) returned to the UFC earlier this year and defeated Josh Koscheck by TKO in the first round at UFC 156. It was his first fight in the UFC since 2004 and it was his return to the welterweight division.
Castillo (15-5) has won five of his seven fights in the UFC since coming over from the WEC in 2011. He has won four of his last five and most recently defeated Paul Sass at UFC on FUEL TV 7 in February.
Green (20-5) is currently on a five fight winning streak and won his UFC debut in February against Jacob Volkmann at UFC 156. During his recent winning streak, three of his wins have come by submission with two of them coming by rear-naked choke.
UFC on FOX 8 takes place on July 27th at KeyArena in Seattle and the UFC has not announced the main event at this time.
