After word that Alexander Gustafsson could be out of UFC on FUEL TV 9 main event against Gegard Mousasi, Wanderlei Silva went to Twitter and stated that he was contacted by the UFC about stepping in for Gustafsson.

Once Silva tweeted out the above tweet, the MMA world was a buzz even though UFC President Dana White or the UFC would not confirm what “The Axe Murderer” said. At the end of the day, this was Silva’s version of an April Fool’s Day joke.
Silva will not be stepping in against Mousasi on Saturday night and he has released a video explaining his joke and apologized for his actions.
