Former UFC fighter Leonard Garcia was released earlier this week and it did not take him long to find a new home as he has signed with Legacy Fighting Championships.
Legacy FC officials announced the signing last night and Garcia will make his debut with the promotion on July 19 against Ray Trujillo at Legacy FC 21.
Legacy FC 21 will come from the Arena Theater in Houston, Texas and will be headlined by Matt Hobar meeting Angel Huerta for the vacant Legacy FC featherweight title.
Following the announcement of signing with the Texas based promotion, Garcia sent out a tweet that he was happy to have a new place to fight.
Glad everyone is as excited as I am about the move to @legacyfighting! It’s always fun to fight at home #proudtexan

Garcia (15-11-1) is currently on a five fight winning streak and announced this week during various interviews that he will begin training with Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California. He has been training at Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico and still plans to do some training with them.
He has been thinking about moving to Team Alpha Male for awhile because his weakness is his wrestling and that is the stregnth of that team. His goal is to get back to the UFC and he will need to win a couple of fights on the regional scene to make it back to the UFC.
