Reza Madadi has been forced to pull out of his UFC on FOX 8 bout against Michael Chiesa for reportedly a visa issue and Chiesa will now face Jorge Masvidal.
The news of the change was announced on Tuesday night’s edition of UFC Tonight on FUEL TV and the new fight will take place on the preliminary card.
UFC on FOX 8 takes place on July 27th from KeyArena in Seattle and will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending the UFC flyweight title against John Moraga.
Chiesa (9-0) won The Ultimate Fighter 15 and has won his first two fights in the UFC. After winning the UFC reality show, his next appearance in the octagon came at UFC 157 earlier this year and defeated Anton Kuivanen by rear-naked choke submission. It was his fifth straight win by rear-naked choke submission and seven of his wins have come by submission.
Masvidal (24-7) made his UFC last month at UFC on FOX 7 and defeated Tim Means by unanimous decision. It was his second straight victory and has won four of his last five with the only lost coming against Gilbert Melendez in a Strikeforce lightweight title bout.
