Yuri Alcatara didn’t waste anytime in getting a victory on Saturday at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil as he defeated Iliarde Santos in the first round by TKO.
He came out as the agressor in the fight and began to work his punches and kicks. Santos is a flyweight fighter and size was a difference in the fight as Alcantara was able to out muscle him when they were grappling against the fence.
The end of the fight came at the 2:31 mark of the opening round as he landed a left hand that dropped Santos and landed punches on the ground before referee Kevin Mulhall came in to stop the fight.
Alcantara (28-4, 1NC) is now 3-1, 1NC in the UFC and this is his 12th career win by TKO/KO. Santos (27-7-1, 1NC) took this fight on short notice and should get another opportunity in the UFC as a flyweight, which is his natural weight class.
