The only other Summer Series date that has previously been announced is July 31st from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and that card is going to be headlined by two title defenses.

The Bellator 2013 Summer Series will be on Wednesday nights and the main card will begin on Spike TV at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. During the first Bellator season on Spike TV, the promotion had their events on Thursday night’s and aired from 10 p.m. ET till midnight.

Bellator or Spike TV have not announced what day of the week and time slot the show will air on during the upcoming ninth season, which is scheduled to begin in September.

During this week’s conference call announcing the signing of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Spike TV President Kevin Kay was asked about if a decision had been made on what date and timeslot Bellator would be on during the fall and announced the organization will be doing a show on September 7th.

“No, you know, we know when the June 19 fight is and the July 31 fight is and the September 7 fight are,” Kay said. “But beyond that we’re just still evaluating and assessing, you know, where – what is going to be the best night.”

“There’s a lot of competition out there, and we felt it was important to move Impact back to 9 o’clock for the summer and going forward. So you know, it’s a better time slot, you know, for Impact. It’s it’s old time slot. So we still have some work to do there. We’ll probably announce that shortly.”

If you look at a calendar, September 7th falls on a Saturday and is the day before the first full day of the NFL regular season. This will be the first Saturday fight card that Bellator has put together since Bellator 59 in November of 2011.
