A lightweight bout has been added to UFC 164 on August 31st in Milwaukee as Jamie Varner will meet Gleison Tibau.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Wednesday afternoon and the organization did not announce if the fight will be place on the main or preliminary portion of the fight card.
UFC 164 takes place on August 31st from the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee and will be headlined by Benson Henderson defending the UFC lightweight title against TJ Grant.
Varner (21-7-1, 2NC) has won two of his last three fights since returning to the promotion and is coming off a split decision victory over Melvin Guillard at UFC 155. Prior to his decision win over Guillard, his last four wins had come by stoppage.
Tibau (27-9) has been in the UFC since 2006 and has won five of his last seven fights. He is coming off a submission win over John Cholish at UFC on FX 8 and it was his first submission victory in nearly two years.
