Liz Carmouche was scheduled to face Miesha Tate at UFC on FOX 8, but she was left without an opponent when Tate was taken off the card so she could be a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 18 against Ronda Rousey.
Carmouche will stay on the July 27th card in Seattle and she will meet Jessica Andrade.
Andrade announced the fight on Twitter and the fight has been confirmed by the UFC. It’s unclear if Carmouche-Andrade will remain on the main card or if it will be place on the main card.
UFC on FOX 8 takes place on July 27th from KeyArena in Seattle and will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending the UFC flyweight title against John Moraga.
Carmouche (8-3) made her UFC debut earlier this year as she faced UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in the first women’s bout in UFC history. She was defeated late in the first round by armbar submission and the defeat snapped a two fight winning streak.
Andrade (9-2) will be making her UFC debut in this fight and has won back to back fights with both of the wins coming by submission in the second round. Five of her last six wins have come by submission and four of her last six wins have happened in the first round.
