Bellator has added another fighter to their expanding roster as the organization has signed former UFC fighter John Alessio.
Bellator officials confirmed the signing with TheMMAReport.com after the fighter tweeted he had been signed by the promotion.
Alessio (34-16, 1NC) has competed in Pride, WEC, UFC and DREAM. After being out of the UFC for several years, he returned to the organization last year but lost back to back fights. After losing those fights, he was released by the company and his last fight was a bout that ended in a no contest in November.
He will make his debut in the fall during season nine of Bellator and according to the tweet below, it appears a tournament in his future.
