The next international season of The Ultimate Fighter has been officially announced as it will be Canada vs. Australia and the show will be called “The Ultimate Fighter Nations.”
UFC President Dana White made the announcement on Friday morning in Canada and this season will feature welterweight (170 lbs) fighters with the teams being coached by Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke.
Cote (20-8) returned the UFC in 2006 and was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter: The Comeback. He is originally from Rimouski, Quebec and he was the first Canadian fighter to reach the final. He is only one of two Canadian fighters to reach the reality show final in the history of the show. He has won back to back fights and recently defeated Bobby Voelker in his UFC welterweight debut at UFC 158.
Noke (20-6-1) is a native of Dubbo, New South Wells and is also an alum of the reality show. He was on season eleven of the reality show which was coached by Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. He has won four of his six fights in the UFC and recently dropped to the welterweight division and defeated Charlie Brenneman by TKO at UFC 152.
Tryouts for The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia will begin in September and both countries will host casting opportunities. The first casting call will be in Sydney and the second in Toronto. Details on the tryouts will be available on July 1st at http://www.ufc.com/TUFNations.
The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia is expected to debut in early 2014 and it will air nationally in Canada on Sportsnet and TVA Sports and on FX in Australia.
