A pair of welterweight bouts have been added to UFC on FS1 #2 in Indianapolis with Robert Whittaker facing Court McGee and Justin Edwards meeting Brandon Thatch.
UFC officials announced the fight bookings on Wednesday and it’s not known where the fights will be placed on the fight card.
UFC on FS1 #2 takes place on August 28th from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be headlined by Carlos Condit facing Martin Kampmann in a five round welterweight bout.
Whittaker (11-2) was the welterweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes and is coming off a knockout victory over Ultimate Fighter 16 winner Colton Smith. Ten of his eleven wins have come by stoppage and three of his last four wins are by TKO/KO. McGee (14-3) won The Ultimate Fighter 11 and dropped down to the welterweight division earlier this year. In his welterweight debut, he defeated Josh Neer and it was his first win since 2011.
Edwards (8-2) is an alum of The Ultimate Fighter and has gone 2-2 in the UFC. He is coming off a technical submission victory over Josh Neer at UFC on FX 5 and it was his sixth career win by submission. Thatch (9-1) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and is currently on a eight fight losing streak. During his winning streak, all of the wins have come in the first round and his last two wins are by submission.
