Ryan Jimmo and Igor Pokrajac had a less than fan pleasing performance on Saturday night at UFC 161 and Jimmo won by unanimous decision.
After Jimmo threw the first strike to start the fight, Pokrajac stormed forward and Jimmo clinched with him. After a lack of action, referee Yves Lavigne separated the fighters.
As the fight restarted, Jimmo immediately clinched him and Lavigne ended up separating them again.
Once again, they would clinch against the fence and Lavigne separated them after what he felt was a lack of action. After they were separated, they went straight back to clinching against the fence and Lavigne told them to work.
They separated at that point and exchanged a pair of strikes before Jimmo took the fight to the fence and clinched Pokrajac. Just like previously in the round, they were separated. Pokrajac would land a couple of significant strikes before the round ended.
As the second round opened, Jimmo dropped Pokrajac with a punch and the action went to the ground. Jimmo had top position and used his ground and pound as he looked to finish the fight. The fight remained in this position for the rest of the round as Jimmo could not capitalized on the fight punch he landed early in the round.
Pokrajac was able to get the fight to the ground early in the final round but Jimmo was able to reverse the position and maintain top position. As Jimmo looked to pass on his top position, Pokrajac went for a guillotine choke. He would not be able to get the submission and the fighters worked their way back to the feet.
They clinched against the fence with 40 seconds left in the round and after a lack of action, they were separated with 15 seconds left in the fight. The fight would go to the judges scorecards and all three judges scored the fight for Jimmo.
