Felipe Arantes won his second fight in the UFC as he defeated Ultimate Fighter Brazil 1 finalist Godofredo Pepey by TKO in the first round.
At the beginning of the fight, Pepey was able to land a punch coming forward and looked to take the fight to the ground. He would transition to the back, but Arantes would reverse the position and have top position on Pepey.
Arantes was able to land several big punches from top position but Pepey was able to reverse the position on the ground and achieve the mount position.
Pepey left an opening for Arantes to reverse the position on the ground and he capitalized. While in top position, he landed several short elbows and referee Dan Miragliotta came in to stop the fight at the 3:32 mark of the opening round.
Arantes (15-4-1, 2NC) is now 2-1-1 in the UFC and this is his first knockout win since 2010.
