Ildemar Alcantara dropped down to the welterweight division from the light heavyweight division on Saturday at UFC on FUEL TV 10 and defeated Leandro Santos by unanimous decision. 
As the fight opened. Alcantara was able to gain control of the octagon and landed a knee against the fence. Silva attempted to take the fight to the ground but it was unsuccessful.
After exchanging punches against the fence, it appeared that Alcantara slipped and the fight went to the ground. He would be able to get back to his feet but Silva looked for a single leg takedown. The attempt would be unsuccessful and the fight returned to the feet.
Silva was able to catch a body kick of Alcantara but could not capitalized on catching the kick. Alcantara was able to get the fight to the ground and worked is ground strikes from top position. The fight would move back to the feet when Alcantara moved away and referee Marc Goodard had Silva get back on his feet. The fighters would exchange punches until the end of the round and the fight moved into the second round.
At the beginning of the second round, Silva looked to get the crowd behind him and Alcantara continued to be the aggressor in the fight. Silva went for a takedown around the two minute mark of the round and once again his attempt was unsuccessful. They continued to strike with each other but the pace was slowing down. The round would end with Silva looking for a takedown which Alcantara stopped easily.
In the final round, Alcantara was able to continue to have control of the octagon and stopped the takedown of Silva. After Silva looked for a single leg takedown, Alcantara was able to get the fight to the ground and was in the guard of Silva. While on the ground, Silva landed an illegal up kick and the fight was stopped for a moment.
The action would continue and the fighters moved to the fight as Silva became the aggressor. Alcantara was able to take the fight to the ground but ended up backing away and the fight would come to an end. All three judges scored the fight for Alcantara (19-5) and he has now won both of his fights in the UFC.
