Raphael Assunacao has now won four fights in a row in the UFC as he defeated Vaughan Lee by submission in the second round in the final bout on the UFC on FUEL TV 10 preliminary card.
At the beginning of the fight, Assuncao took control of the cage and looked for a takedown at the one minute mark of the fight. The takedown attempt was unsuccessful and the fighters continued to strike with each other.
Assuncao would be able to get a takedown near the three minute mark and Lee was able to get back to his feet before Assuncao was able to mount any offense. After they separated from each other, Assuncao used a combination to set up a takedown and began to work his ground game.
Assuncao would transition to different positions on the ground and looked for various submissions. Lee would be able to defend the submission attempts and make it out of the opening round.
In the second round, Lee was able to open up a cut on the face of Assuncao but he could not stop the takedown. Whole on the ground, Assuncao looked for an armbar submission and Lee would tap out once his arm was extended.
Assuncao is now 4-0 as a UFC bantamweight and continues to prove that he is one of the top contenders in the division.
