The Houston Chronicle reported the bout initially and the UFC confirmed the report on Monday evening.

UFC 166 takes place on October 19th from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas and will be headlined by Cain Velasquez defending the UFC heavyweight title in his trilogy bout with former champion Junior dos Santos.

Cormier (12-0) made his UFC debut earlier this year in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 7 and defeated former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir by unanimous decision.

Nelson (19-8) is coming off a decision lost to Stipe Miocic in the co-main event of UFC 161 and the defeat snapped a three fight winning streak. During that winning streak, all of the victories came by first round knockout.

The current UFC 166: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos III card is below:

Cain Velasquez (12-1) vs. Junior dos Santos (16-2)
Daniel Cormier (12-0) vs. Roy Nelson (19-8)
Hector Lombard (32-4-1, 1NC) vs. Nate Marquardt (32-12-2)
Gilbert Melendez (21-3) vs. Diego Sanchez (24-5)
Tony Ferguson (13-3) vs. Mike Rio (9-2)
