UFC 162 Result: Cub Swanson wins fifth straight with third round stoppage over Dennis Siver

The opening bout of the UFC 162 pay-per-view was a featherweight bout and Cub Swanson scored a third round TKO victory over Dennis Siver. UFC 162

The fight opened with Siver landing a leg kick and Swanson looked to land a power strike. Swanson went for a spinning head kick but Siver caught the kick and took the fight to the ground.

While on the ground, Siver was able to pass to half guard as Swanson looked to get the fight back to the feet. Siver would be able to pass to side control and looked for a mounted crucifix. Siver gave up on that position and returned to top position.
Swanson was able to get back to his feet with 20 seconds left in the round and the fight moved into the second round.

As the second round opened, Swanson looked to keep his distance and keep the fight on the feet. They continued to strike with each other before Siver caught the leg of Swanson and looked to take the fight to the ground. Swanson was able to keep the fight on the fight and attempted a cartwheel kick. The kick would miss and they continued to exchange punches and kicks.

With one minute left in the round, Swanson landed a right hand that stunned Siver. Siver attempted to take the fight to the ground but Swanson would reverse the position and have the full mount position. Swanson would land several strikes and Siver would be able to get out of the position as the round came to an end.

In the final round, Swanson opened up by landing a right hand but Siver continued to come forward. As they exchanged strikes, Swanson ending up dropping Siver with a punch and finished the fight with punches on the ground.

Swanson (20-5) has now won five fights in a row and he could be looking at a title shot in the near future.
